The Dream of Playing at Red Rocks

Hi, I’m Adrienne Osborn. I have an indie pop band that I call Adrienne O.

We formed in 2012. We started out playing places like the Toad Tavern, Lion’s Lair and the wonderfully named Pit Stop.

Over the past few years, we’ve played at the Gothic Theater, the Oriental Theater, the Bluebird Theater, the Fox Theater, the Hard Rock Cafe, and, last summer, Coors Field.  We’ve released three official music videos and three EPs. We’ve gone on tour through Arizona and California and received several songwriting and performance awards.

We’ve done all this completely self-funded, and without any outside support. We set goals and work toward them.

Earlier this year, I dared to write down the biggest goal of the year: to play at Red Rocks. But I had no idea how that could possibly happen. To be honest, it felt pretty impossible.

And then I heard about what FACE is doing.

Did that last sentence not make sense? Let me tell you a bit about FACE.

FACE is a vocal rock band. That means they’re an a cappella rock band.  No instruments, just voices.

Let me back up a bit.

I used to love to sing a cappella in college. I was in a group at Stanford called Counterpoint. When I moved out to Colorado in 2000, I searched out a cappella groups in Boulder. I heard about this group FACE, and went to see them at a small bar called Redfish. I was impressed. I loved them. I started following them.

That was 17 years ago.

Since then, I’ve seen FACE continuously improve, grow their audiences at an incredible pace, and play increasingly larger shows. They’ve gone on a large European tour, repeatedly sold out some of the largest venues in Colorado, and they just raised $30,000 for their next album on Kickstarter. FACE is the picture of success that comes from persistent hard work.

This summer they’re headlining Red Rocks! I couldn’t be happier for them. Having seen their hard work over almost two DECADES, they deserve this.

And the cool thing is, they’re using their success as a platform for giving back, as they often do. This time, they’re offering the opportunity for two local Colorado bands to open for them.

Will you help us be one of those bands?

It would be my biggest dream come true.

It doesn’t cost anything but a minute of your time. Go to the link below and WATCH, LIKE, FOLLOW, and SHARE on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or Pinterest. The more, the better. And use the hashtags FACERRCHALLENGE and AORR so we can generate buzz for both FACE and for us.

Over the next month, we’ll be giving away gifts to people who help us out with this. Using the hashtag will help us find your efforts and reward you for them.

Thank you for helping us get to where we are so far, and thank you in advance for helping us work toward this HUGE dream!
